Scribe Japanese - Vocabulary App Reviews

Very pleased...

I have tried many different methods before I came across this app, none of them worked for me. I dont like mind numbing repetition. This app makes it fun to learn. After you get a hand full of words memorized you start learning new ones but then it throws you one youve already memorized and Im like wait I know this... Oh yea thats it! It defiantly commits words to long term memory. The only setting I changed was that I didnt want to see the pronunciation before I click get answer, all the other settings work well the way they are!

Best app for Japanese learners

I used this app to improve my vocabulary and kanji recognition skills throughout college. It has so many features that you can practice exactly how you learn best.

すげいいいい!!!

Learned 90 vocabulary words in 5 days! In those, some used kanji, and Ive memorized those two. Its addicting to use this app. It uses list of words such as from the JLPT or the way Japanese schools learn words. I wish that there was a list that supported the Genki I and II textbooks. Would have made it even easier.

Good app!!!

BUT only in english.

Japanese flashcards

Build vocabulary through flashcards with audio. But English only

8000 jlpt exam words

The menu is a bit of guesswork. But all kanji are covered.

nice

Pretty simple way to learn japanese words

Anoying

Bad UI, slow, heavy, not user friendly, painfull to use, too bad!

Fantastic application

This is a great tool to learn many new vocabulary with fun. I like most two original things : (1) it gives you for each word other words of similar sound. (2) it gives if you wish the kanji of the word and if you click on the kanji it gives origin of the kanji and similar kanjis. I have already some good basics in japanese but this application is so intuitive it seems that I am improving myself fast without effort. Thank you so much for creating this smart application !! I am going to Japan soon and I am using this app everytime I have some free minutes ! Also a last great thing : I am french and I am also improving my english with this english-japanese app ....

Good

Maybe one day I will learn Japanese!

Something different

Very well done. Great to learn the pronunciations of the kanjis without much effort. Beautiful App, Thank you!

Great App

Great App! Super Friendly and Fast Support. so far JLPT 5 - mastered in 1.5 months. 711 words, around 15 words/day. It works, 20 minutes walking to school, during breaks, sitting in restroom haha... learn anywhere you want

the best

this is the best app for learning actual vocabulary so far. its easy to use, doesnt break down (like other apps ive tried) and youll learn a lot faster than with any other method. upgrading to the full version is definitely worth it!

Very good!

Im loving this app. The basic version is good but you get the most bang by just getting the in-store purchase. Its cheap and extremely comprehensive. Id recommend this app to anyone wanting to learn Kanji. The only thing I wish this app would add is stroke order!

Very good

This is a great app for learning Japanese. I love the new update with the grammar guide and test mode. The format is very adaptable to user preference and the developer friendly and responsive to suggestions. I use this daily, along with Scribe Origins, and it has become my main self-study regimen. Great work!

★★★★★

I love this app, its my favourite for learning kanji. Theres so many things you can do to learn, its great. The full version is well worth the 8 dollars, but the free version is good too.

good support, good app

Its been quite easy to get questions answered via their support email. Happy so far.

Simple flashcards, but..

There arent any lessons on grammar. I think its great for actually building a solid vocabulary to begin with. But would be better with some lessons.

JLPT flashcard app

Another app useful for us JLPT prep people. Would be nice if there was a way to import progress from other apps (anki).

Very good

Just started using this, but I like the interface and the simple games add more variety than the other apps Ive tried. Also like the way it groups words that sound the same but use different kanji.
